Consulting groups partner to market trade database

   SJ Consulting Group Inc., a transportation and logistics consulting firm based in Pittsburgh, said it has entered into a business alliance with YDL Management Consultants (YDL), a Europe based management-consulting firm.
   The alliance will combine YDL's global trade database and business intelligence capabilities and SJ Consulting's industry expertise to provide decision-making resources to transportation and logistics companies.
   Under the agreement, SJ Consulting will be the exclusive North American partner for subscriptions to the trade database. The database provides up-to-date information on global trade by air and sea per commodity, enabling users to analyze trends, establish market share and create forecasts. The database also contains current and historical statistics about trade in tonnage and the value of the goods shipped.
   Potential customers for the database include airlines, ocean shipping companies, freight forwarders, international airports, logistics companies, consulting firms, financial institutions, integrators, law firms, commodity brokers and government agencies.
