NYK Reefers to take 50% share in LauritzenCool

NYK Reefers to take 50% share in LauritzenCool    Under terms of a new partnership, NYK Reefers, a provider of refrigerated shipping services, will acquire a 50-percent share in LauritzenCool Logistics, and also participate in a tonnage sharing agreement with LauriztenCool, effective Jan. 1.
   Based in Danderyd, Sweden, LauritzenCool is a logistics company offering integrated, multi-destination door-to-door logistics services for perishable goods.
   The combined fleet of both companies will comprise more than 70 specialized reefer vessels.
   LauritzenCool Logistics is a wholly owned subsidiary of LauritzenCool AB.
   Fumiya Aoki, London-based chief executive officer of NYK Reefers, said, “the new cooperation with LauritzenCool … is in line with NYK’s strategy of being a logistics mega-carrier.”
