Juice tanker in collision in Newark Bay A collision between an orange juice tanker and a dredging vessel that occurred in Newark Bay Thursday afternoon closed part of the Port of New York and New Jersey for about five hours, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
   The 669-foot Orange Sun, which has a capacity of about 42,500 deadweight tons, collided with a dredge called the New York. Operated by Great Lakes Dredge and Drydock, the New York is involved in the project to deepen the port’s shipping channels to 50 feet.
   No one was injured in the collision, and there was no report of cargo or fuel leaking, only a only small amount of hydraulic fluid on the surface of the bay. The dredge took on water after the collision, but a salvage crew was successful in stabilizing the dredge.
   The Orange Sun was escorted to a nearby anchorage by tugboats for a damage survey.
