Ports of Busan, Durban sign cooperative agreement

Ports of Busan, Durban sign cooperative agreement    The Busan Port Authority (BPA) and South Africa’s National Ports Authority (NPA) Monday signed a letter of intent to promote cooperation and exchange between the ports of Busan and Durban.
   At the ceremony in Durban, South Korea’s BPA said it is also considering foreign port investment in Bungtau Port in Vietnam and the Russian ports of Vladivostok and Vostochny.
   The NPA is a division of the state-owned Transnet Ltd., and is mandated to manage all seven commercial ports on South Africa’s 2,954 kilometers of coastline. Other than Durban, ports under the NPA’s control are Richards Bay, East London, Port Elizabeth, Mossel Bay, Cape Town and Saldanha.
