Penavico Shanghai, an agency company of the China Ocean
Shipping Co group, said that it has changed its approach to customer service.
Some staff are now "totally responsible for their contact with
customer and adjusting and dealing with the requirements of shippers," the Chinese
agent said.
The new organization replaces the "old traditional division and
set up (for the) customer service department," it said.
Citing increased competition in liner shipping, Penavico Shanghai said
that it needs to adjust to market competition and to gain advantage in the market, in a
context of opening market economy.
