FedEx Freight launches four service centers

FedEx Freight launches four service centers    FedEx Freight, a provider of regional and interregional less-than-truckload services in the United States, has opened four new service centers and expanded a fifth facility as part of a 'long-term growth strategy focusing on next-day and second-day regional markets,' according to Douglas G. Duncan, president and chief executive officer of FedEx Freight.
   The company's new facilities are in Des Plaines, Ill.; Salem, Ore.; Texarkana, Ark., and Springfield, Mass. In Des Plaines, FedEx's 44,000-square-foot service center has 76 doors. The 10,000-square-foot facility in Salem has 28 service doors. The company's 17,000-square-foot center in Texarkana features 36 doors. In Springfield, the new facility has 18,000 square feet and 23 doors.
   In addition, FedEx Freight has added a supplemental building at the company's service center in West Babylon, N.Y., on Long Island. The expansion brings that facility to 17,000 square feet with 60 doors to handle freight.
   FedEx Freight is a subsidiary of FedEx Corp., based in Memphis.
