Famous Pacific Philippines adds services

   Famous Pacific Forwarding Philippines has started weekly domestic full-containerload and less-than-containerload ocean services, linking ports in Manila and Cebu to key points in the region.
   The forwarder is starting by offering roll-on/roll-off and container services, but plans to add conventional capacity services in the future.
   Customers have expressed strong demand for these new services, said Marina Rollan, Famous Pacific’s director. She added that few international forwarders have a domestic operation, but Famous Pacific needed to add this service to become a more complete organization. 
   “While there has been a downturn in overall volumes of international cargo in 2012, there has been an upward trend in the domestic sector,” Rollan said. “This has been caused by growing demand for transport of goods from Manila to various points of the Southern Philippines — supplying construction materials, feeding the growth in commercial outlets and providing distribution of finished products.”
