U.K. PAPER SHIPPER AWARDS LOGISTICS CONTRACT TO DFDS    U.K. paper giant Tullis Russell has awarded a new 18-month contract to DFDS Transport for road transport services to Austria, Germany, Italy, Switzerland and Scandinavia.
   The new contract takes Tullis Russell’s annual spend with DFDS to more than 3 million pounds (or about $4.9 million). DFDS will be responsible for the transport of more than 50 percent of the paper company’s European sales.
   In addition, DFDS continues to provide ocean freight services to Tullis Russell from the United Kingdom to the United States. The paper company’s North America distribution hub is located in Newark, N.J.
   Each year, Tullis Russell sells more than 132,000 tons of paper to customers in Europe, the United States, South America and Asia. Nearly half of the company’s production is exported to overseas markets.
