New book for supply chain professionals    The Educational Society for Resource Management (APICS) and J. Ross Publishing have published a book on supply chain planning written by Jeffrey H. Schutt, a consultant on supply chain planning and execution with Menlo Worldwide.
   “Directing the Flow of Product: A Guide to Improving Supply Chain Planning” examines different approaches and techniques for managing product flow and is intended primarily for practitioners who already have a background in the planning field.
   The book is directed toward businesses for which material flow is important, such as basic materials producers, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers of physical goods.
   Schutt has taught in the management department at the University of Texas and served as a partner in the supply chain solutions practice of CSC Consulting.
