Former USTDA director heads CEE    The Coalition for Employment Through Exports has named John Hardy Jr. to succeed Ed Rice as president, effective May 1.
   'He will be a tremendous asset as we work with the administration and Congress to advance the National Export Initiative and next year's reauthorization of the Ex-Im Bank,' said Nicole Westin, CEE director of government relations, in a statement.
   Hardy served as deputy director and then acting director of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency in the 1980s, after which he managed a private sector investment fund at the U.S. Agency for International Development. He subsequently oversaw the export financing policies for several engineering and energy companies in Washington.
   For nearly two decades, Hardy has been active in CEE's export promotion efforts and has testified before Congress several times on export finance and trade promotion issues. He recently became involved in the development of a waste-to-energy project in Izmir, Turkey and serves as an active proponent of green energy technologies.
