MARITIMEDIRECT ADDS EXECUTIVES

MARITIMEDIRECT ADDS EXECUTIVES    MaritimeDirect, the online information and e-commerce marketplace for the maritime shipping industry, has named Martin Taylor director of e-commerce and Doug Kowalchuk vice president of e-commerce and operations.
   Taylor will be responsible for the strategic direction of MaritimeDirect's e-procurement system and will manage the new Hong Kong office. He joins the company from Arena, where he led the global sales and marketing effort to promote its e-commerce procurement system to ship owners, managers and strategic partners. He previously serves as general manager of Hong Kong operations for Unitor A/S, a Norwegian marine supply company.
   Kowalchuk has more than 15 years of e-commerce, supply-chain management and logistics experience, most recently serving as senior vice president, logistics, for WorldSpy Corp., an e-commerce micro-portal. Previously, he was vice president, logistics for e-commerce marketplaces with Copera, a provider of warehouse operations management services for e-commerce marketplaces.
