CBP plans trade symposium Nov. 2-4

CBP plans trade symposium Nov. 2-4    U.S. Customs and Border Protection will host its annual trade symposium Nov. 2-4 at the Ronald Reagan Building in Washington, D.C.
   The symposium, which has become popular with the import and export community because of the concentrated access to many top CBP officials, will be held earlier than any of the five previous events. Last year’s symposium actually took place in January this year after being postponed from its original date in December. At least 800 individuals attended the meeting.
   The symposium provides many panels and speeches on trade and border security issues featuring CBP and Department of Homeland Security officials.
   The first day of the symposium features a trade workshop from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by a full-day session on Nov. 3 and a half-day session on Nov. 4.
   Cost is $235 and interested parties are encouraged to register early as space is limited. Registration will open up on or about Sept. 23 and will be done online at https://www.cbp.gov. The agency has reserved a block of rooms at the J.W. Marriott at a rate of $239.
