The rate hikes, effective Aug. 15, are $600 per 20-foot container, $750 per 40-foot container, and $850 per 40-foot high-cube container.
MSC also said it will assess a peak season surcharge on cargo from Southeast Asia to Australia beginning Aug. 15.
The surcharge, $250 per TEU, is applicable to cargo moving from Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam.
