Bush made this commitment in a statement together with Peruvian President Alan Garcia in Washington Tuesday.
The so-called U.S.-Peru Trade Promotion Agreement promises to strengthen bilateral trade between the United States and the South American country. At the same time, the Bush administration vowed to continue supporting Peru’s efforts to dismantle drug cartels and other criminal operations operating within its borders.
