GM, Hueneme port sign deal to handle 20,000 autos per year

GM, Hueneme port sign deal to handle 20,000 autos per year Detroit-based auto giant General Motors has signed a deal to handle 20,000 new vehicles a year through the Port of Hueneme.
   Under terms of the deal, about half will be GM Saturns imported from Germany. The remaining 10,000 will be exports to China and the Far East of domestically produced vehicles such as Cadillacs and Chevrolet Trailblazers.
   Oxnard Harbor District President Michael Plisky announced the deal on Thursday.
   The Ventura County-port, located about 50 miles northwest of Los Angeles, processes more than 250,000 vehicles each year, including such makes as BMW, Hyundai, Jaguar, Kia, Land Rover, Maserati, Mitsubishi, Rolls-Royce, Saab, Suzuki and Volvo.
