CMA CGM calls at DP World Vietnam terminal

CMA CGM calls at DP World Vietnam terminal    French liner carrier CMA CGM said Friday it has begun calling the new DP World-managed container terminal near Ho Chi Minh City, the first vessel to call at the upriver terminal in southern Vietnam.
   The stop at DP World's Saigon Premier Container Terminal is the third in Vietnam on CMA CGM's FAS feeder service between Malaysia and Vietnam. The rotation for the service is Port Klang, Phuoc Long (60 miles from Ho Chi Minh City), Cat Lai (in Ho Chi Minh City), Tanjung Pelepas and Port Klang.
   SPCT, located within an industrial development about 10 miles south of Ho Chi Minh City, has deeper draft and larger yard capacity than existing container terminals closer to central Ho Chi Minh City. With capacity for 1.5 million TEUs, it is expected to complement feeder terminals near the city and a huge deepwater container port complex 60 miles southeast of Ho Chi Minh City.
