The vessels, to be operated by Essar Shipping and Logistics Ltd., are mini cape bulk carriers. Essar also has an option of buying three more vessels. The vessels will be delivered over a seven-month period beginning July 2011.
Essar already has a fleet of 28 vessels with a capacity of 1.5 million deadweight tons, the Economic Times reported.
