Vietnam gives green light to NYK car carrier JV

The new joint venture, dubbed NYK Auto Logistics (Vietnam), has been officially approved to begin finished-car logistics operations in Vietnam.    The government of Vietnam has approved a joint automobile shipping venture between NYK Line and Vietnam Ocean Shipping Agency Corp., (VOSA), NYK said in a statement.
   The joint venture, dubbed NYK Auto Logistics (Vietnam) (NALV), specializes in finished-car logistics will make Vietnam its 19th country to house its operations. NYK initially announced the joint venture in December, but no new details on the financial terms of the agreement have been disclosed.
   NALV will offer pre-delivery inspection including services such as repairs and parts application for finished vehicles, as well as storage and delivery.
   The two parent companies already combine inland logistics with sea transport by roll-on/roll-off (ro-ro) vessels to offer a total logistics service in 18 other countries, said NYK.
