F.S. Mackenzie establishes Ukraine subsidiary

F.S. Mackenzie establishes Ukraine subsidiary    United Kingdom-based freight forwarder F.S. Mackenzie has established a subsidiary company in the Ukraine capital Kiev.
   The new F.S. Mackenzie Ukraine office will offer multimodal freight forwarding services and ocean freight consolidation services around the world via ports in Poland, as well as facilities on the Black sea, via Odessa.
   “The Ukraine is an emerging market with very high development potential. There are few logistics service providers with a local presence, mainly due to the current lack of infrastructure,” said Alfred Stienen, managing director of F.S. Mackenzie. “Many companies have invested significantly in the Ukraine and we expect the country’s development to follow a similar pattern to the economies in other parts of Eastern Europe, such as the Czech Republic,” Stienen added.
   F.S. Mackenzie also has wholly owned subsidiary offices in Moscow and St. Petersburg. In July, it opened a subsidiary in the independent Russian Republic of Tatarstan.
   “Through the three hubs of our wholly owned subsidiaries in the Russian Federation, and now the Ukraine, we are well placed to offer competitive, cost-effective services between these economies and other parts of Europe, Asia and North America,” Stienen said.
