Blue Tree, McLeod Software integrate

   Blue Tree Systems, a provider of fleet management technology for Europe and North America, and Birmingham, Ala.-based McLeod Software, which focuses on the transportation industry, have announced a combined solution for carriers to monitor trailer location and temperature in real-time.
   The companies have integrated Blue Tree’s R:COM Trailer Tracking and Temperature Management System with McLeod’s LoadMaster Enterprise trucking dispatch operations management system. The combination gives carriers a single interface and provides real-time visibility to trailer positions, temperature of cargo, and other data provided by cargo sensors while in transit.
   The platform will allow trucking companies to setup intervals for status updates and reporting, as well as establish temperature limits for cargo that will track possible abnormal conditions or temperature alarms and bring this data directly to a carrier’s attention.
   Alarm reports for sensors such as refrigerated unit power/battery can also be delivered via the LoadMaster Rapid Alert module as part of this system. The LoadMaster service also maintains a load temperature history to help carriers provide proof that loads stayed within appropriate ranges throughout their transport.
