New World Alliance ends transatlantic Le Havre call    According to slot charter partner Maersk Sealand, New World Alliance carriers APL, MOL, and Hyundai Merchant Marine are suspending direct calls at Le Havre on their weekly Asia/U.S. East Coast/Europe/U.S. East Coast/U.S. West Coast/Asia “APX” pendulum service, to improve schedule reliability.
   Maersk Sealand only takes space on the transatlantic leg of the service.
   The last call at Le Havre will be made by the vessel “MOL Commitment” April 26, Maersk Sealand said.
   Maersk Sealand said it is investigating a feedering option to restore coverage to the French port and that its own “Transatlantic 5” route will continue direct calls to Le Havre.
   The “APX service uses 12 ships averaging 4,192 TEUs and has a revised port rotation of Chiwan; Hong Kong; Kaohsiung; Busan; Kobe; Tokyo; Manzanillo, Panama; Miami; Savannah, Ga.; Charleston, S.C.; New York; Rotterdam; Bremerhaven; Felixstowe; New York; Norfolk, Va.; Charleston; Manzanillo; Oakland, Calif.; Tokyo; Kobe and back to Chiwan.
