Agility fires back with suit against DLA

   Kuwait-based logistics company Agility said on Tuesday it has filed a $225 million breach of claims suit against the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency, adding the agency breached the terms of a contract, according to a Reuters report.
   The logistics company, which built its reputation on the back of a number of contracts with DLA before being indicted by the U.S. Justice Department for fraud in November 2009, said in a statement U.S. government officials employed by DLA and the Justice Department “conspired and acted in concert to intentionally deprive Agility of its rights under the Second Prime Vendor Contract,” the news report said.
   The $225 million comprises the amount owed in performance-based distribution fees plus interest, Agility said. The contract entailed distributing food products to combat units.
