Savi Tech names Nakamoto as CEO

Savi Tech names Nakamoto as CEO RFID manufacturer Savi Technology Inc. last week announced the promotion of Chief Operating Officer Ron Nakamoto to chief executive officer.
   Nakamoto, who replaces Vic Verma as Savi Tech CEO, also serves as COO of Savi Group, and vice president and general manager for the Global In-Transit Visibility division of Lockheed Martin’s Integrated Systems & Global Solutions Co.
   Verma, CEO of Savi Group, will remain as president and chairman of the board of Mountain View, Calif.-based Savi Tech. Verma is also CEO of Savi Networks, a joint venture between Savi Tech and Hutchison Port Holdings.
   Prior to joining Savi Tech, Nakamoto was vice president and general manager for the $1.5 billion, 3,600 employee Intelligence Systems business of the Integrated Systems & Solutions Co. of Lockheed Martin. Nakamoto was also vice president of the Mission Ground Systems and the regional executive for the Western Region of Lockheed Martin Management and Data Systems Co.
   Prior to Lockheed Martin, Nakamoto held systems engineering and management positions at Western Development Labs, Loral Corp., and at Ford Aerospace Communications Corp. Nakamoto has also held classified assignments involving intelligence systems with the U.S. Secretary of the Air Force.
