I was born in Cuba and my family lost everything because Castro took it away. As far as I am concerned nothing has changed in Cuba and there is not a 'new generation' in Cuba. All there is, is more of the same. You may want to let Rep. Jim McGovern (D-Mass.) know that.
Liberal thinking and communism are very closely related in my eyes and in the eyes of a lot of Cubans. I want my representatives in Congress to represent our (conservative Cuban) views if that is what their constituents want. I really dislike these people up on Capitol Hill spewing their beliefs, and demanding from the president something that the people who elected him do not want him to do. We do not want the president or congress to change policies with Cuba.
The Castro family is still in power. Does the United States want another country begging us for money only to criticize us for not giving enough or not liking how or what we are giving? I really do not want my tax dollars going to Castro nor anybody he puts in place.
Nothing is changing in Cuba any time soon and nothing the United States does or doesn't do will change the ungrateful mentality of the Cuban people that Fidel Castro has created.
And remember, once that island opens up, you are going to have a lot of people, who all their lives have been given everything they have without out having to work too hard for it. The apathetic attitude is what communism instills. There are a lot of people with the 'welfare' attitude. Do you want to have to support a country such as this?
