Hankins named Donjon-SMIT president

Hankins named Donjon-SMIT president    Donjon-SMIT, a joint venture of Donjon Marine Co. and SMIT Salvage Americas, has named Paul Hankins as president.
   Hankins was Donjon-SMIT's vice president of operations and has been with the organization since 2005. Hankins has more than 30 years of management experience in the federal government and private industry, including more than 18 years in emergency response and marine salvage operations management.
   Donjon-SMIT is an OPA-90 Alliance, which, through the 1990 Oil Pollution Act provides salvage, firefighting, and lightering in response to marine casualties involving oil spills.
   Before joining Donjon-SMIT, Hankins was deputy assistant administrator for maritime and land security for the U.S. Homeland Security Department's Transportation Security Administration, and also served as director of response preparedness for the administration.
