Hanjin takes slots on two PNW services    Hanjin Shipping will take slots on two Asia/Pacific Northwest services operated by its alliance partners COSCO and Yang Ming, starting in June to provide more options on port gateways.
   The services are the CY-PNW2 and YPN services. CY-PNW2 calls Shanghai, Yantian, Hong Kong, Yokohama, Seattle, Vancouver, Yokohama, Kobe and Shanghai. YPN calls Shanghai, Tacoma and Vancouver.
   Hanjin’s move follows the addition of Asia/Pacific Northwest capacity by COSCO and Yang Ming before the forthcoming peak season, as most carriers and shippers remain concerned about the prospect of delays at southern Californian ports.
   The CY-PNW2 service is operated with five 2,900-TEU vessels provided by COSCO and Yang Ming. The YPN operation employs four 1,500 TEU vessels of Yang Ming. Hanjin said it has chartered 475 TEUs per ship on the former service and 275 TEUs per vessel on the latter.
   With the two additional space charters, the number of Hanjin’s service routes connecting Asia and US West Coast will reach    14.
