USF WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS ACQUIRES U.K. FIRM

USF WORLDWIDE LOGISTICS ACQUIRES U.K. FIRM    USF Worldwide Logistics, a logistics subsidiary of USFreightways Corp. has entered into an agreement to acquire London-based Ultimex Global Logistics PLC.
   Terms of the deal were not disclosed. USF Worldwide Logistics will acquire Ultimex from its three principles, which will remain with the company in management positions. Mark White will serve as president and chief executive officer of Ultimex, Mark Gilbert will continue to serve as vice president of development, and Brian Vella remains vice president of marketing and sales.
   Ultimex provides ground transportation, logistics and air and ocean services.
   Ultimex joins USF Asia Group “in forming the foundation of our plan to become an integrated global supply chain provider,” said Doug Christensen, president and CEO of USF Worldwide Logistics.
