Inchcape names Coghlan chairman to assist “aggressive expansion drive”
London-based marine services provider Inchcape Shipping Services has appointed former Exel executive John Coghlan as its chairman.Coghlan’s roles at U.K. logistics company Exel, before its takeover by Deutsche Post World Net, included deputy chief executive officer and chief financial officer.
Inchcape was acquired in January by Dubai-based Istithmar PJSC for about $285 million. The company said Coghlan’s appointment will assist its “aggressive expansion drive” that includes possible takeovers and expansion in areas such as West Africa, Australasia, Latin America and the Baltic and Black Sea regions.
“I’m delighted John is joining us and very much look forward to working with him. His experience will be invaluable at a time when the company is seeking out fresh opportunities for strategic growth,” said Claus Hyldager, Inchcape’s CEO.
