FedEx Launches ocean choices portfolio    FedEx said its FedEx Trade Networks freight forwarder arm will begin offering three distinct ocean forwarding products including a new priority product for full-containerload and less-than-containerload shipments from three select ports in China.
   The new service, FedEx International Direct Priority Ocean, will offer “fast and reliable” ocean delivery within a range of dates, said a company spokesman for LCL and FCL cargo. The new option will offer delivery to Los Angeles and Long Beach from Yantian-Shenzhen, Shanghai and Hong Kong using preferred carriers or FedEx Freight for LCL shipments.
   'We understand that our customers have different shipping needs, depending on the product they're shipping,' said Fred Schardt, president and chief executive officer of FedEx Trade Networks. 'Through our new ocean choices portfolio, customers now have the ability to match their demands with our ocean service levels, helping them to take greater control of their supply chains and operate more efficiently.'
   In addition to the priority product, the company said it would continue to offer shippers two other options.
   ' FedEx International Direct Economy Ocean offers traditional freight forwarding services to and from major worldwide locations for products that have a flexible delivery schedule.
   ' The company also has a distribution center bypass product, FedEx International DirectDistribution Ocean, that offers better speed to market for ocean cargo bound to destinations in the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico from origins in Asia, Latin America, the Middle East, India and Europe.
