E.R. Schiffahrt takes control of offshore joint venture

E.R. Schiffahrt takes control of offshore joint venture Hamburg, Germany-based E.R. Schiffahrt has taken over all the shares from OSM Norway in OSM Schiffahrt GmbH & Cie. KG, the two parties’ 50-50 offshore vessels management joint venture.
   The joint venture, which was established in 2006, was renamed E.R. Offshore GmbH & Cie. KG. on Sept. 1. All OSM Schiffahrt staff will remain with E.R. Offshore.
   'The new ownership and our growing fleet underline our strong commitment to the offshore business,” said Willem Dekker, managing director of E.R. Offshore.
   As a replacement of the joint venture agreement, OSM Norway and E.R. Schiffahrt have signed a cooperation agreement that will see both companies work together in areas such as crewing, safety and quality.
   E.R. Offshore manages a fleet of four platform supply vessels and has a further 15 offshore vessels on order in Norway and South Korea. The first additional scheduled delivery is the E.R. Stavanger, a platform supply vessel, to be delivered by the Aker Yards later this month.
