Grimaldi opens Lagos terminal    Grimaldi Group has opened a 42-acre roll-on/roll-off and container terminal in Lagos, Nigeria.
   Located on Tin Can Island, the terminal was built by a Grimaldi subsidiary under the build, operate and transfer initiative of the Nigerian government.
   As a long-term investment and strategic development financier, Grimaldi has a 25-year concession to operate the terminal, which is a major port of call by its services from Europe, South America and the United States.
   This dedicated multipurpose facility is the first phase of a $60 million project, with separate areas dedicated to containers, vehicles, high and heavy equipment, and project cargo.
   The initial phase of the terminal has a 250-meter quay with 11 meters of draft and a 170,000-square-meter terminal area. A second phase to be competed in January 2007 will add a 200-meter berth, 30,000 square meters of stacking capacity and additional 1,500 square meters of office space.
