Teletrac updates with truck market

Teletrac, a GPS fleet tracking and telematics provider, has updated its main software platform Fleet Director with a focus on new and established technology.
Fleet Director allows operations managers to run fleets more efficiently while improving driver safety. The updates focus on including new business intelligence, in-cab color touchscreen tablets with two-way messaging, safety analytics and reporting, and removing spaces for human error.
Like most sectors, the trucking industry is also looking to remove as much paperwork as possible in favor of electronic reporting. Teletrac has removed hours of service paper logs and switching to electronic versions available to the driver’s tablet-based logbook.
Following the trends set by some of the bigger technology companies in the logistics space, Teletrac has introduced a set of on-demand reports and analysis. The new Fleet Director allows managers to select data and generate custom reports from a list of metrics, including data from multiple sources and linked accounts all displayed on a single dashboard.
Teletrac’s system is currently used by more than 20,000 fleets across 75 countries and the company said its customers show a 30 percent lower fuel use, an average of 15 percent less driver overtime, 12 percent higher productivity, and less unauthorized vehicle use.
