USTR assesses U.S.-South Korea FTA    The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative has asked for public comments regarding the potential trade impacts of the pending U.S.-South Korea free trade agreement.
   The agreement was signed by the two countries on June 30, 2007, but has not yet entered into effect.
   The Interagency Trade Policy Staff Committee, which will help the USTR craft its analysis, said the public comments should address:
   ' How the free trade agreement will affect trade of particular goods or services.
   ' Economic costs and benefits to U.S. workers, farmers, ranchers, businesses and consumers by removing tariffs and non-tariff barriers affecting trade between the United States and South Korea.
   ' Any additional steps that one or both governments should take to address specific concerns regarding the free trade agreement and the bilateral trade and investment relationship.
   Comments are due to the USTR by no later than Sept. 15. For more details, access the Federal Register notice.
