Maritime cargo revenues for the port were $37 million, up 28 percent over 2005 numbers.
The port estimates cargo tonnage volumes will continue to increase about 10 percent to 15 percent per year for the foreseeable future.
While the neighboring Los Angeles and Long Beach ports to the north are dominated by containerized cargo, San Diego's port deals with a diverse amount of containerized, bulk and breakbulk cargoes.
