Kenneth Edwards entered the guilty plea June 13 in U.S. District Court in Montgomery, Ala. He was charged with one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.
According to the U.S. Department of Transportation Office of Inspector General, Edwards conspired with two employees at his chiropractic office in Phenix City, Ala. Neither of the employees was authorized to perform DOT medical exams. But investigators said drivers were charged for medical examinations performed by the two employees, who uploaded the results to FMCSA, certifying that Edwards himself had performed the exams.
