WHO sends medical supplies to tsunami damaged South Asia    The World Health Organization sent enough medical supplies on Tuesday to meet the needs of 40,000 people in South Asia, and promises that more is on the way this week.
   WHO said it is responding to the deadly tsunamis that struck the region on Dec. 26, killing possibly more than 45,000 people.
   WHO is currently preparing to send at least 15 new emergency health kits (each kit is designed to cover the basic health needs of 10,000 persons for three months) and 13 trauma kits (each covering 100 interventions) to the countries in the region.
   Financial support has been received from the Italian government and funding for immediate action has been provided to WHO by the U.K. Department for International Development.
