Norbert Dentressangle’s big 2012 finish

   Norbert Dentressangle bucked a lackluster economic environment in 2012 to finish the year with 3.8 billion euros ($5.1 billion) in revenues, an 8.5-percent rise over 2011’s total, propelled by strong finishes in its transport activities and logistics activities.
   Freight forwarding showed the largest improvement, growing last year from an 86-million-euro business in 2011 to 143 million euros in turnover, a 67.1 percent increase.
   Norbert Dentressangle’s big finish was helped along by a 4.6-percent, year-over-year, revenue growth in the fourth quarter.
   While transport’s totals outshined the annual takings in Norbert Dentressangle’s logistics division, logistics still reported marked growth in 2012. Its rise to 1.78 billion euros in revenue was due to strong growth in Italy, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands in the last quarter. – Jon Ross
