Georgia ports report record growth    The Georgia Ports Authority said it achieved record growth and during this year's peak season.
   The Port of Savannah in October handled 207,622 TEU, the first time it had handled more than 200,000 containers in a month.
   'The increased volume was handled without delays at our gates or on our terminal,' said Doug J. Marchand, executive director of the port authority. 'Vessel productivity of 39 moves per crane hour was achieved and continues to provide outstanding service to our shipping customers.'
   During the first four months of fiscal year 2007, the GPA handled 765,084 TEUs, a 10.9 percent increase over the same period last year.
   Marchand said the port plans to add 15 rubber-tire gantry cranes in July 2007 and four additional ship-to-shore cranes by May 2008 to accommodate additional business.
