ôQueen Mary 2ö sets record for San Francisco Bay The massive 'Queen Mary 2' cruise liner passed under the Golden Gate Bridge Sunday, clearing the rust-colored span's bottom by a mere 27 feet, and setting a new record as the largest vessel to ever enter San Francisco Bay.
   The Cunard Line vessel measures 134.5 feet wide and 1,131 feet long, displacing 151,000 tons.
   Scores of watercraft greeted the ship and its 2,638 passengers as the behemoth slowly made its way to dock at the Port of San Francisco’s Pier 27. In addition to the dramatic views of the bridge and skyline for passengers, the overnight stop was a chance for the 1,250-person crew to pick up 150 tons of food.
   The vessel's current cruise has logged 14,145 miles since its departure from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and journey around South America's Cape Horn. The 'QM2' will continue to Honolulu, then to the South Pacific, Australia, Asia, Egypt and Europe before returning to Florida April 2.
