According to a Cargolux release, imports will mostly consist of mining-industry equipment, which must be flown by air because of the geographic challenges of the country. Exports will include perishable goods like fresh beans and mangoes.
Earlier in the week, Cargolux announced freighter flights to Tripoli, Libya, starting April 16. The plane will fly on a Luxembourg–Tripoli–Johannesburg route. Cargolux management has seen a growing demand for air freight into the country driven by the oil and gas industry. – Jon Ross
