The facility will house storage and fulfillment operations for the firm's Asia and Pacific Rim customers. The size of the new facility and financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
According to SLI, which manufactures CD/DVD/BD storage products, the new distribution center will improve product availability and lead times, optimize logistics and improve overall service levels for customers using SLI’s products in the Asia Pacific region. The facility will also be used to service certain European-based customers who were previously supported from SLI’s distribution center in California.
“We continue to see our customers expanding operations and outsourcing manufacturing in Asia,” said Don Friss, president of SLI. “This facility will allow us to better support our customers on a global basis.”
Founded in 1999, SLI is an authorized distributor of Panasonic’s Computer Components Group.
