Continental Airlines has offered to take control of Aeroperu, the
debt-laden Peruvian airline grounded since March.
Under the plan, which must be approved by the airline’s creditors,
Aeroperu would resume flying later this month. Continental would manage the
airline’s operations and own 49 percent of the carrier.
Aeroperu reportedly owes more than $170 million to creditors, including
Delta Air Lines and Mexican airline Aeromexico.
