Third small-ship Asia/Europe service pulled    A Far East/Europe service operated by PIL and Wan Hai was suspended July 3.

   The lines’ FES service had a rotation of Shanghai, Ningbo, Hong Kong, Nansha, Shekou, Singapore, Port Kelang, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Antwerp, Port Kelang, Singapore, Shekou and Singapore. The service operated with nine vessels (four from each carriers, with one vessel unallocated at the time of the suspension) with an average capacity of 4,251 TEUs.
   The service is the third such loop on the Far East/Europe trade to be dropped in recent days, following the CKYH Alliance’s suspension of its NE5 service to the Mediterranean and CSAV Norasia’s suspended Mare Nostrum service. Like those two services, the PIL-Wan Hai service was operated with relatively small vessels for the mainline Asia/Europe trade. ' Eric Johnson
