Carriers terminating India/Med/North America loop The service partners of the India North America Express (IDX), covering the U.S. East Coast/Mediterranean/Indian Subcontinent trade, have decided to terminate the service early next year.
   The IDX was started in May 2006 by Emirates Shipping Line, Zim, the Shipping Corp. of India (SCI), and CMA CGM subsidiary MacAndrews, who were already in the trade on the India-America Express (Indamex) that is now operated with ships supplied by APL, Hapag-Lloyd and CMA CGM.
   OOCL and Evergreen Line replaced MacAndrews on the IDX service in January 2007.
   The service is running with just three vessels and the last westbound voyage will be made by the 2,700-TEU SCI Kiran from Colombo on Jan. 23. The same vessel will make the final eastbound sailing from New York on Feb. 20.
   The port rotation of the IDX (called IMU by Evergreen) is New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Barcelona, Port Said, Colombo, Tuticorin, Cochin, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Barcelona and back to New York. ' Simon Heaney
