United increases Asia coverage    United Airlines is offering new flights between Nagoya and Taipei as well as expanding its existing service between Chicago and Hong Kong and upgrading aircraft size for its summer Chicago/Beijing service.
   The combined passenger and cargo Nagoya/Taipei service will commence on April 29 with United operating a Boeing 777 aircraft. “The route adds connectivity in two cargo-strong markets, providing approximately 15 tons of cargo capacity daily in each direction and giving Taipei cargo customers an additional option to the U.S. via Nagoya,” United said.
   United is also advancing its scheduled increase in flights on its existing daily service between Chicago and Hong Kong to May 6, from the originally scheduled date of June 7. The change will see an extra three flights per week between the two cities, to a total of 10 weekly flights. United said it will result in 50 tons weekly of extra cargo space nonstop to and from Hong Kong.
   United also said from June 6 through Oct. 29 it is upgrading its aircraft size from a Boeing 777 to a Boeing 747 on its daily service between Chicago and Beijing. “Our strong alliance partnership with Air China has contributed to the increased customer demand on this route,” said Mike Whitaker, vice president-alliances, international regulatory affairs.
