Supply Chain Council picks board

Members of the Supply Chain Council, a global management organization whose goals revolve around creating improvements in supply chain processes, have elected an eight-member board to serve for three years.
The council said its new board reflects its practitioner-driven leadership model.

   New board members are:
  • Matt Davis, principal research analyst at Gartner’s AMR Supply Chain Research.
  • Lars Magnusson, manager of supply chain development at Ericsson AB.
  • Maha Muzumdar, vice president of supply chain marketing for Oracle.
  • Rocky Newman, professor of supply chain and operations management at the Miami University of Ohio.
  • Paul Peters, deputy assistant secretary of defense for supply chain integration at the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics and Materiel Readiness in the U.S. Defense Department.
  • John Sells, senior manager of logistics and sustainment at Lockheed Martin.
  • Christian Verstraete, chief technology officer for manufacturing and distribution industries at Hewlett Packard.
  • Peter Vanderminden, a principal enterprise strategist of supply chain, transportation and logistics for Microsoft.
The board provides direction and sets policies so the council can provide services like research, education, and training to its members. “We are fortunate to have a board that is experienced and deeply versed in the real-world supply chain challenges,” said the council’s executive director Joseph Francis.
The board chairman for the upcoming year will be Steve Georgevitch, Boeing’s senior project manager for analysis, integration, and logistics. Georgevitch and seven other board members will continue to service out their ongoing terms. The others are:
  • Karl Braitberg of Cisco Systems.
  • David Closs from Michigan State University.
  • Volvo’s Nancy Craft.
  • Brad Householder of PRTM.
  • Larry Lichter at McCormick & Company, Inc.
  • Gary Kilponen of Cameron Valves and Measurement Group.
  • and Dow Chemical’s Don Weintritt.
The council will have a presence at two major events this fall, it’s Executive Summit in September and Supply Chain World Europe in October.
