Eimskip drops Philadelphia and Norfolk, adds Richmond    Reykjavik-based Eimskip, part of the Avion Group, will from the end of this month replace U.S. East Coast calls at Philadelphia and Norfolk with Richmond, Va., on its fortnightly North American Route to Iceland.
   The last call at the Newport News terminal in the Port of Norfolk will be made by the 413-TEU “Skogafoss” Oct. 26. The other vessel deployed, the 724-TEU “Bruarfoss,” will make the last call at Philadelphia Nov. 8 and the first call at Richmond a day later.
   The North American Route will have a revised port rotation of Boston; Richmond; Shelburne, Nova Scotia; Argentia, Newfoundland; St Anthony, Newfoundland; Reykjavik, Iceland; Argentia; Shelburne; and back to Boston.
   “This port call change is the result of an overall restructuring designed to centralize U.S. Mid Atlantic traffic through one port,” Eimskip said.
