Former CBP official joins L-3

Former CBP official joins L-3    Gary Shiffman, chief of staff to former Customs and Border Protection Commissioner Robert Bonner and Deborah Spero, acting commissioner, has surfaced at L-3 Communications as senior vice president of global security solutions in the Government Services Group, the company said. He will be based in Alexandria, Va.
   Shiffman previously worked at the law firm of Greenberg Traurig on international trade and homeland security issues. He was a senior advisor on national security affairs to former Florida Sen. Connie Mack and the Republican leadership in the Senate before that.
   New York-based L-3 is a defense contractor that also produces passenger baggage and full-scale cargo X-ray examination systems, among other homeland security technologies.
