Houston-based Continental flew 82.1 million cargo revenue ton-miles during the month, a 6.4 percent decline, while Chicago’s United reported a 4.1 percent increase at 162.8 million system cargo ton-miles.
After eight months both airlines were down year-on-year. Continental transported 671.3 million revenue ton-miles, down 4.6 percent, while United’s system cargo ton-miles were down 4.3 percent to 1.30 billion.
