USTDA awards grant for Belgrade airport cargo study    The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a $414,219 grant to the Serbian government for a study into the expansion of cargo services at the country’s Belgrade International Airport.
   This grant follows a previous $376,000 USTDA grant to fund Phase 1 of the feasibility study of the project. According to the agency, Serbian authorities hope to expand the freight and cargo handling facilities at the Belgrade airport to create a hub to support the long-term needs of the region.
   USTDA said the study would verify the demand for the service, perform legal and regulatory due diligence and market analysis, and help in the tendering process.
   Squire, Sanders and Dempsey will conduct the study and contribute funds toward the cost of its completion, the agency said. The firm is acting on behalf of an advisory group, which includes Fieldstone, as co-lead advisor with Squire, Sanders and Dempsey; Simat Hilliesen & Eicher, as market and feasibility advisor; and Gensler LLP and Parsons Brinckeroff International as architectural, engineering and planning advisors.
